Michelle Christie
Manual Osteopath
DOMP, RMO, Cranial Sacral Therapist, Bsc
Michelle is a registered manual osteopathic practitioner who is skilled in the hands on treatment of many chronic conditions such as arthritis, neck pain, degenerative disc disease, headaches and migraines, and back pain. She hopes to use her skills as a manual osteopath to help patients who may be suffering from chronic pain, as she once did. After several horseback riding accidents in her younger years, Michelle struggled with chronic neck and back pain. Finding little relief from traditional modalities such as chiropractic and massage therapy.
Michelle finally decided to give osteopathy a try and this was how she met Jeannie. Shocked at the difference just 1 appointment made in her level of pain and quality of life, she decided to pursue a career in manual osteopathy. She entered the DOMP (Diploma Osteopathic Manual Practitioner) program at the National Academy of Osteopathy in Toronto, Ontario, graduated with honors and is so happy to be pursuing a career helping patients alleviate their pain and restore their quality of life.
Michelle is a member of the Osteopathy Chronic Pain Clinics of Canada, and specializes in treatment of patients with chronic conditions and chronic pain. She has also taken additional courses in Cupping and Kinesiology Taping, and is certified in both.
Michelle is also only 1 of 2 Manual Osteopaths in Ontario trained in and offering Gentle Neurovascular Release to clients; these techniques are unique and offer incredible benefits of release to the nervous and vascular (arteries and veins) system. Prior to her education as a Manual Osteopath, Michelle received her Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Guelph in 2013 and she worked as a receptionist at a veterinary hospital. She currently has a dog named Cooper and her former show jumping horse, Black Tie. In addition to spending time with her pets, she enjoys hiking, gardening, reading and yoga. Michelle's area of expertise lies in head, jaw and neck Osteopathy which includes a special interest practice in Craniosacral therapy.
