Osteopathy (Craniofacial & Buccal Intraoral Therapy)
A specialized osteopathic treatment focused on relieving tension and promoting mobility, circulation and lymphatic flow throughout the face, jaw, head and neck.
Treatment may incorporate osteopathic techniques, soft tissue therapy, myofascial and fascial release, gentle lymphatic drainage, facial massage, jaw work and intraoral (buccal) techniques. By working both externally and, where appropriate, inside the mouth, treatment can address areas of muscular and fascial tension that may be difficult to access through external techniques alone.
This approach may be particularly helpful for people experiencing jaw tension or discomfort, clenching-related muscular tension, facial tightness, tension-type headaches, neck and upper shoulder tension, temple or forehead tension, and feelings of pressure or heaviness through the face.
Treatment around the forehead, temples, brow and surrounding facial tissues may also be soothing for people who experience tired or heavy-feeling eyes, tension around the eyes or brow, or facial tension associated with prolonged screen use and visual concentration.
The lymphatic and soft tissue components provide a gentle approach to supporting fluid movement and reducing feelings of facial puffiness or congestion, while fascial and osteopathic techniques focus on restoring comfortable movement and reducing patterns of tension through the interconnected structures of the face, jaw, head and neck.
Each session is individualized according to your symptoms and comfort level. Intraoral techniques are used only when appropriate and with consent.
