Daniel Chou is a Registered Acupuncturist with a lifelong passion for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), rooted in his early fascination with the body’s natural healing ability. With over 40 years of experience in Tai Chi and Qi Gong, Daniel integrates these practices into his treatments, helping patients restore balance, reduce stress, and improve long-term health. He currently teaches Tai Chi and Qi Gong in Markham and promotes these time-honoured disciplines as part of his holistic care approach.
Daniel provides acupuncture and related therapies—including cupping, moxibustion, tui na, and blood-letting therapy—for a wide range of health concerns. His scope of practice focuses on using TCM to support patients with:
Musculoskeletal pain: back pain, sciatica, joint pain, arthritis
Stress and emotional health: anxiety, depression, insomnia, fatigue
Neurological conditions: migraines, facial paralysis, stroke recovery

Daniel is currently advancing his training toward becoming a full Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner at the Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Before entering the field of TCM, Daniel built a distinguished career in accounting and business leadership. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA) and Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA, UK). His background includes executive roles in financial management, utility sector operations, and strategic consulting.
Daniel has served as:
- Chairman of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (UK) in Canada
- Instructor for professional development and markers for the Certified General Accountants of Ontario
- Finance Chair and Executive Board Member with several non-profit organizations, including York Support Services Network, University Settlement and Hospice Toronto
Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, Daniel is known for his warm, individualized care and his commitment to both short-term relief and long-term healing. He welcomes patients from all walks of life and works closely with them to develop treatment plans that address root imbalances and promote lasting wellness.
