Meditative Containment

Enhance your meditation experience with immobility.

Meditative Containment is a contemplative art form—an invitation to become fully present within yourself.

Through intentional, meditative rope placement, the body becomes both canvas and vessel, inviting stillness, presence, and deep inward awareness. More than merely restricting movement, the rope encourages the mind to quiet and awareness to deepen. Paired with a guided meditation, each experience offers an opportunity to pause, breathe, and explore the subtle space where body, mind, and imagination meet.

Pranamasana Containment

Inspired by Pranamasana (Prayer Pose), this standing partial containment is a meditation in presence. Rope is applied with care and intention across the shoulders and in support of the "prayer" hand pose, creating a striking yet deeply calming composition that encourages grounding, focus, and surrender to the present moment. The session concludes with a guided seated meditation while remaining in partial containment, allowing the experience to settle deeply into the body.

Sukhasana Containment

Inspired by Sukhasana (Easy Pose), this seated partial containment offers a quiet, cocoon-like experience of rest and reflection. The artistic arrangement of the rope around the back, hips and cross-legged legs, creates a gentle sense of being held, inviting you to soften inward while a guided meditation leads you toward stillness, clarity, and self-connection. Bringing a favorite shawl or blanket to wrap around your shoulders is encouraged.

Complete Containment Experience

For those wishing to immerse themselves more fully, this extended session combines both Pranamasana and Sukhasana Containment into a single contemplative journey.

Beginning in standing containment, the arms and hands are roped into Prayer Pose before transitioning into seated containment, where the experience continues with roping into a cross-legged seated pose. The journey unfolds gradually through guided meditation, allowing each aspect of this experience to deepen the next. Together, they create a unique expression of rope as meditation—an artistic ritual of presence, reflection, and embodied awareness.
